On September 28th, St. Augustine held its annual Terry Fox Walk. Terry Fox was a brave hero who started a journey across Canada while facing his personal fight against cancer. Our students and staff members walked over 5 km to raise awareness for cancer research. Some students walked to continue Terry’s journey while others ran for family members or friends who are going through similar obstacles. Anyone who participated in the Terry Fox Walk could feel the school spirit as students united together in a mass of red and white. Athletic Council had stations where student leaders gave out snacks and cheered students on! Along the route, there were encouraging posters that had messages such as “Honk for Terry” and “Keep on Running!”. And yes, there were even cars honking for Terry! Overall, this year’s Terry Fox Run was a success. If Terry were here today, he would definitely be proud.
