After their fantastic Fall carnival in October, President’s Council is back with a whole week solely dedicated to Titan spirit! You don’t want to miss the last week of school – that is December 18th – 22nd – as there will be daily festivities, including Mario Kart racing, a Christmas drive, and a spirit competition. Here are the daily events that will be taking place:
ALL WEEK:
- Matt 25 is presenting a brand new initiative at St. Augustine! As a homeroom class, bring in household items to foster a family.
- Come by the OSAID booth during all three lunches to play Mario Kart while wearing their super cool vision goggles. You may even win a prize!
- We all know that Christmas shopping can be very stressful. Spectrum knows this and will be running a free bubble wrap popping station.
- Let’s not forget the spirit competition that is taking place this week! Students running each event listed above will be taking note of whether more girls or more boys are participating in the festivities! The winning gender will receive a free spirit day after the break!
Monday, December 18th, 2017:
- Make sure to pull out your Christmas hats, as you will be allowed to sport it all day long
- Make sure to wear your nicest outfit (from DGN Kilters) as you will have the opportunity to take a picture with Santa Claus
Tuesday, December 19th, 2017:
- Come to school wearing your ugliest Christmas sweater (and your uniform pants) to be part of the ugliest catwalk
- This is the last day that Santa Claus will be able to make an appearance for photos before he has to go back to the North Pole to pack his sleigh.
Wednesday, December 20th, 2017:
- Eco-Team and HEART have partnered to sell B.Y.O.M hot chocolate (must bring your own mug) and cinnamon roll waffles during all lunches!
Thursday, December 21st, 2017:
- Calling all singers! During all three lunches you are invited to partake in Christmas Karaoke (Ms. Devlin-Foley will surely be recruiting choir members at the same time)
Friday, December 22nd, 2017:
- Ask your teachers to bring you down to the cafeteria during all three lunches so that you can watch a fan-favorite Christmas movie (Hint: only this movie can make spaghetti and syrup work)
- Make sure to come watch our Buddies caroling in the foyer during 2nd period!
- Sign up to play ping-pong alongside Athletic Council in the gym during 4th period
Lucas Giardina, student body president, has high hopes for this event as he expects the event to “ bring the spirit of Christmas to the students of St. A’s since December can be a crazy time for families and teens”. Giardina is excited to fulfill the goal that he has promised by “encouraging students to have fun and focus on their well-being. The events promise to be funny, uplifting, and a chance to hang out with each other (and Santa)!” The Titans representative has spent countless hours alongside members of president’s council and administration staff to ensure that we, Titans, are able to make the most of this festive time.
