Last week, Spectrum held its annual coffeehouse! There was a lot of free coffee, tea, delicious food, and most importantly, there were many talented performers that stole the show! Here are the thoughts of some of the performers!

Q: How did it feel to perform? Were you nervous, excited, etc.? Did you enjoy the experience?

A: “It was nerve wracking, but once I got up there and saw my friends and family smiling and enjoying, I felt a lot more comfortable.” -Elaiza P., singer

A: “Stellar. I was super nervous presenting a new song to a new audience but I’m super glad with how it went.” -Aidan C., singer

A: “It was a practice for my jury on the next day. Sure I enjoyed it.” -Richard G., pianist

Q: What made you want to audition for coffeehouse?

A: “Well my initial goal was to make people happy 🙂 I thought coffeehouse was a great place to showcase my talent as I love being on stage. Lastly, I love and support the message the club behind it, Spectrum, is promoting about inclusiveness and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.” -Elaiza P., singer

A: “I just like to perform and my friends were pushing me to do it so I did.” -Aidan C., singer

A: “Peer pressure and also parents.” –Richard G., pianist

Q: How long did you sing/play the piano?

A: “I’ve been singing as long as I’ve been talking. My dad used to always sing to me when I was younger and made me repeat the words he was singing. I grew up singing.” –Elaiza P., singer

A: “Since I was out of the womb. I literally sing all the time and annoy all of my friends (sorry!) but I love to sing.” -Aidan C., singer

A: “Almost 12 years, I think.” -Richard G., pianist
