The colour pink was always stereotyped as a feminine colour, but society’s perspective changes when  a boy decided to wear a pink t-shirt to school. On that day, the young boy was bullied by his classmates for wearing the pink t-shirt. Two grade 12 students of the school came back the next day and wore their own pink shirt to show respect towards the young boy that wore the shirt the day before.

On Thursday, November 22, St. Augustine participated in Pink Shirt Day where each homeroom class was given a pink t-shirt and was asked to decorate the shirts to express the school’s commitment to no bullying. Each class’ pink t-shirt were displayed in the main foyer of the school, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all students. In addition, one student from each class were able to wear their class’ shirt for the day. When students wear pink shirts to school, students are reminded that bullying needs to end and that St. Augustine does not support any form of bullying. The shirts are a sign to show that if you need a supportive hand, the students at St.Augustine are there to help and that you are not alone.
