Mother’s Day comes in a flash of smiles and love. All of a sudden you have to fly under the radar, trying to come up with the perfect way to celebrate the person who loves you the most. You ran out of time and all the gifts are sold out! But there’s no need to worry because this article can help you come up with four ways to celebrate the special day with your mother!
No matter what, you really can’t go wrong with brunch. A decadent stack of waffles or plate of eggs benedict is a sure-fire way to show how much you love her. Nothing says “I love you” quite like the most important meal of the day. There are many places to go to around Markham, both affordable and delicious. Such as Alchemy Coffee, Ramona’s Kitchen, and Platform Espresso Bar. If you’re more committed to going out of the area, Toronto is flourishing with cafes and bakeries ranging from style, price, and culture. Some honourable mentions are Lady Marmalade, Bonjour Brioche, and School. A trip downtown for a special brunch is definitely worth it for this special day.
Another route to celebrate Mother’s Day is to just make it a relaxing day for her. This one is the most simple but involves a lot more ~work~. Pick up a vacuum, some cleaning gloves, and a positive attitude, and try to tackle some of the other chores you wouldn’t normally do. Making sure there aren’t any crumbs or dust on the floor, to taking on the washrooms, this would definitely be a big winner for mothers everywhere and would be much appreciated.
On the flip side of relaxation, try to setup a home spa or splurge on a spa day for your mother. This doesn’t need to be extravagant, it can be a few simple things: buying a couple of face masks for her, setting up a bath, or even a massage. If the assembly of an at-home spa is a little too much, set up an appointment for her to be in a wonderful state of relaxation. All mothers would appreciate a day to be pampered and take care of themselves.
If you don’t want to stay at home and would rather go out, this is the perfect time of the year to see the cherry blossoms! These pretty little flowers are in peak bloom right now and can be viewed in many places around the GTA and downtown Toronto. Places such as High Park, Edwards Gardens, Toronto Island Park and many more places you can research for are all flourishing with cherry blossoms! Admire the flowers with your mom and take lots of photos! Flowers and nature are a beautiful way to spend this special day and experience it with your loved one.
Whichever way you decide to celebrate Mother’s Day, it is bound to be special. This weekend, give it all up for the woman who loves you the most! Tell your mom you love her and are grateful for everything she has done. Mothers deserve to be celebrated every single day, so make sure this Sunday is a special one. Happy Mother’s Day!
