Gift shopping will be especially tricky this year; we cannot stroll into the mall as easily as we once did. So what to do to keep the spirit of giving going? Whether you are looking at a low budget, want to go the extra mile, or are simply fresh out of ideas, this list is for you!

  1. Crafts

Crafts can be useful, enjoyable to create, and best of all, they can be made with just about anything! Look around. Is that a pinecone or an ornament? A ball of yarn or a hat waiting to be knitted? Let loose your creativity!

2. Homemade food

Food is the unofficial love language! Stick to tradition with fresh gingerbread cookies or challenge yourself with a main dish. Go it solo or cook together. After all, the person is the real gift.

3. Donations

The pandemic shut down the economy, putting a strain on countless organizations. Instead of a physical gift, you can make an online donation in the receiver’s name to a business or charity they support. It can be any amount you’re comfortable with, but remember: a little love goes a long way.

4. Book Swap

With libraries closed, we don’t have access to their vast selection of (free!) literature. Instead, you can hold a socially distanced book swap where you and your circle find your next quarantine boredom-busters. Talk about bang for no bucks!

Covid-19 has certainly shaken things up, so why not put your own spin on this season’s gifting? Remember, any gift born of your love and effort is sure to be a good one!

Happy Holidays Titans!
