Tis the season to be jolly, and throughout December, Spectrum has created an advent calendar to spread holiday cheer all while fulfilling positive acts of kindness. The first week of December highlighted self-care and checking in on friends and family.

At the beginning of the initiative, co-president Milli Mathur expressed, “I just hope that this advent calendar helps boost our student body’s morale, as well as spread the holiday spirit! It’s hard to get everyone involved in school-wide activities during times like these, but with events such as our very own advent, we’re still managing to keep our titans together and be united!” and these uplifting spirits made for a successful event!

To celebrate advent and the true meaning of Christmas challenges such as helping a neighbour shovel snow, sending virtual Christmas cards, and donating to the Matt 25 local food bank encourages us to give back to our community and help those in need. Co-president Elaiza Palaypay expressed, “I think the challenges have been going great, and we have been getting some amazing feedback from everyone! It’s wonderful being able to spread a bit of joy and positivity in the school community despite the challenging circumstances.”

As the event neared the end, co-president Natalia Garcia was overjoyed as she stated that “We are proud to bring back the advent calendar challenges for yet another year at St. Augustine! We love to see everyone participate by spreading kindness through small joyful acts every day.”

Year after year, Spectrum continues to excite the students of St.Augustine with the Christmas advent calendar challenges. With only two more days until Christmas, it is important to reflect upon the good deeds and positivity that you have participated in and spread throughout the school community leading up to Christmas.

Have a very Merry Christmas, Titans!
