Quadmester Two has finally come to an end here at St. Augustine. It’s no surprise that everyone’s focus revolved around their studies but we shouldn’t forget about the fun events hosted by the clubs here at St. Augustine. Luckily, clubs such as the Athletic Council, Spectrum and many more worked hard to bring us entertainment throughout the past quadmester, so let’s look at the events hosted by them to highlight our school spirit.

New Events

PC Virtual Game Night

Although we couldn’t meet up in person this year to celebrate Christmas, the Student Council hosted an online event where all the clubs organized a fun activity for the school community. Some of the events included a gingerbread house-making contest, Kahoots and Break the Fake. All clubs and councils did a great job providing unique and interactive games!

Athletic Council “Keeping Up with the Titans” and “Winter Warrior”

To recognize all of the talented students at St. Augustine, the Athletic Council created a campaign where it presented all of the amazing talents found at our school. This three-part series is called “Keeping Up with the Titans” and is released bi-weekly. Their second event called “Winter Warrior” was a fun competition for all students to participate in. This was released to celebrate the New Year and encourage Titans to stay active.

Animal Rights Pet Costume Week.

Unfortunately, this year we weren’t able to interact with the Therapy Dogs to ease our exam anxieties. However, the Animal Rights Committee found a way for all of the animal owners at our school to present their pets on their Instagram account to spread happiness for everyone. The committee received multiple pets varying from different breeds of dogs, cats and even bunnies!

Keeping Traditions

Although our school has found great ways to adapt to our new school setting, there are still councils that keep their old traditions and keep consistency in the changing atmosphere. These events include the following:

HEART Week

HEART Committee’s annual event for raising awareness for our sister schools in Uganda spent the week informing students about their mission. Through their informative and interactive Instagram posts, Titans were able to educate themselves about this important issue.

Spectrum Christmas Calendar

Like every year, Spectrum’s Advent Calendar Challenge was held for everyone to participate in. An activity for each day helped put Titans in the holiday spirit as they promoted spreading kindness and self-care.

Matt 25 Christmas Drive Campaign

An amazing campaign at our school is the Matt 25 Christmas Drive. The club reaches out to the school community and asks for donations to help those in need. This is a positive campaign that allows students to get involved in their community.

Eco Team Up-Cycle Wrapping Competition

With Christmas gifts, there is a lot of wrapping paper that is quickly thrown into the garbage. This isn’t healthy for the environment and the Eco Team made a huge effort to inform everyone of the possible harm that comes with the wrapping paper. This competition brings awareness to the issue at hand and is a fun activity revolving around up-cycling wrapping paper.
