St. Augustine vs. TMS (Game 1)
Wednesday, February 24, 2021
The trivia competition has begun! The first opponent was TMS, who were quick to the buzzer and a mighty challenger to the St. A team. The match was very close, with neither team trailing too far behind. In the end, however, TMS School finished ahead with a score of 300 to our 260. After a tight game of Norse mythology, spelling Canadian cities and vector dot products, the top player with the highest individual score was Valanti Koukoudimos. The team looks forward to future games! This round-robin is far from over.
St. Augustine vs. De La Salle (Game 2)

The team’s second game was another tough one. This intense game was tied up almost the whole time! The first round ended with a 50-50 tie, and the second, 150 to 150. De La Salle was a worthy opponent and they were very good at snapping up the Team Questions. After dealing with categories about fictional princesses, French phrases, pirates and teeth, St. Augustine won by a hair! The final score was 220-210 for St. A.
Go Titans!
St. Augustine vs. Neil McNeil (Game 3)
Tuesday, March 23, 2021
The team’s third game was exciting! This very important game had categories about music terminology, mythology and some tricky spelling. Neil McNeil put up a great fight, snagging many tough questions, and even a 40-point question about Canadian artist Tom Thomson. But, in the end, St. Augustine pulled through, and scored a whopping 270 points to Neil McNeil’s 150. Good job team! The next game is very important. If our Titans can get a winning score, they will be guaranteed a spot in the semifinals…
St. Augustine vs. Villanova (Game 4)
Wednesday, March 24, 2021
The team’s final round-robin game was a success, with a final score of 250 for St. A’s and 90 for Villanova! St. Augustine pulled ahead in every round, beginning the game with an incredible “shootout”. A shootout round is a round in which each of the four individual team players must answer a question correctly in order to be awarded all 40 points. The team was able to secure the shootout, which was a rare occurrence for our trivia team. Congratulations to Villanova for putting up a tough fight on so many close questions.
St. Augustine is now officially in the semi finals and will play Villanova!
