When you first think of March, you think of St. Patrick’s Day and how it’s just an ordinary month with a couple of special events. What if I told you that every single day in March, there’s at least one topic to celebrate? Well, you’re in luck because in this article you’ll be introduced to daily holidays and observances in March that may shock you. Be prepared!
March 1st:
- National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day
On this day, Peanut Butter lovers come together and respect the beauty of this food.
- Fun Facts About Names Day
This day allows you to become your own Sherlock Holmes and uncover the true meaning of your name.
- Plan a Solo Vacation Day
No one quite knows why this is known as a daily holiday because the creator never really gave a significant reason. Generally, it’s used to promote an adventurous trip that awaits solo travellers.
March 2nd:
- Old Stuff Day
When this day comes, it recognizes the boring times everyone has gone through in their daily lifestyle.
March 3rd:
- World Wildlife Day
On this day, people raise awareness for the biology on our planet due to how much it has done for us.
- Caregiver Appreciation Day
This day specifically allows others to reflect on Caregivers because, without them, seniors would have a hard time with their daily lifestyle.
- I Want You To Be Happy Day
This day was created to celebrate making other people happy. The creator of this believes that happiness is truly the key to a beautiful surrounding.
March 4th:
- Holy Experiment Day
Holy Experiment Day is a day made for people to experiment around what they’d like to pray for.
- National Grammar Day
For civilians of the United States, this day is where people would learn how to properly correct themselves in both verbal and written grammar of their language.
- World Obesity Day
On this day, people are given a mission to improving the understanding of the cause of obesity, changing society’s way of viewing obese people, encouraging healthcare professionals to make it a priority, and sharing experiences with the community to set goals.
March 5th:
- Employee Appreciation Day
Though this Appreciation Day occurs all around the world, it mainly honours the significance of all employees who have assisted us throughout our lives.
- Multiple Personality Day
On this day you are to use your time wisely to just connect with yourself and to be grateful for the personalities you live with.
March 6th:
- Dentist’s Day
Even as much as I hate dentists, we celebrate them because they’re the reasons why you have a bright smile on your face with some clean teeth.
- National Frozen Food Day
On this day, we thank all frozen food industries because they’re the ones who allowed us to be able to pop in some food into the microwave and have a delicious, instant meal!
March 7th:
- National Cereal Day
Do you ever just wake up and are too lazy to make some bacon and eggs, so you decide to eat a simple bowl of cereal? Well if you do, you have to thank cereal brands on this day because of how they provide an easy breakfast for us.
- National Crown Roast of Pork Day
This daily holiday is used to celebrate crown roast pork! How do you do that exactly? Well, all you have to do is to cook and eat crown roast pork!
March 8th:
- International Women’s Day
As you may know, women have done a lot of amazing things throughout the years, like working daily to earn money for their living, enhance women’s rights, politics, and create a beautiful environment for all of us. On this glorious day, it is used to celebrate all women in the world.
March 9th:
- Panic Day
How are you dealing these past few days with the pandemic and school work? Well, you’re in luck because this day lets you take a breather, stay calm, and relax as you enjoy life.
March 10th:
- International Day Of Awesomeness
On this day, it recognizes the awesomeness in everyone’s daily lives.
- International Find a Pay Phone Booth Day
People don’t usually use payphone booths anymore and they’re quite rare nowadays, so today we celebrate the near extinction of payphones by going on a scavenger hunt to find them around our community.
March 11th:
- Popcorn Lover’s Day (every second Thursday of the month)
When you go to the movies you always have popcorn and a drink, but who knew Popcorn lovers would receive a day to enjoy their popcorn with each other.
- Worship of Tools Day
Tools like hammers, screwdrivers, and wrenches have impacted our lives so greatly due to how it makes our lives easier. On this day, we’d like to take the time to thank the beauty of our toolboxes.
March 12th:
- Plant a Flower Day
Gardening is a hobby that can help you get off the internet because in this pandemic together, we may get bored at home. So why not plant a flower on this day, celebrate the fact that Spring is near, and save yourself from boredom as well!
- World Sleep Day
I don’t know about you, but sleeping is probably one of my favourite things to do, and thank goodness we have a day to celebrate that for us. Not only does it celebrate how some of us love sleeping, but it also highlights how sleeping is a well-known privilege and it encourages others with sleeping problems to not feel like it’s something to feel insecure about.
March 13th:
- Earmuff Day
On winter days, people tend to wear earmuffs or hats to keep their ears warm so they don’t freeze to death. Some people who live in extremely cold weather adore this holiday because it’s all about celebrating and thanking the person who invented warm earmuffs.
- International Fanny Pack Day (every second Saturday of the month)
This international day started with a guy named Nick, who gave a fruitcake to a homeless guy from his fanny pack. Ever since then, this international day was then created to allow people to participate by allowing them to put food in their fanny packs and distributing them to those in need.
March 14th:
- National Potato Chip Day
In America, this is celebrated by eating potato chips due to their immense popularity.
March 15th:
- The Ides of March
This day is marked to be important for some people as this is the first day of the Roman New Year.
March 16th:
- National Panda Day
With Pandas near extinction, we want to support them in any way possible. Donate to wildlife conservatories and raise awareness for these cute animals!
March 17th:
- Submarine Day
This day is the day to celebrate all kinds of sub sandwiches. To participate, you can order a submarine sandwich and learn more about them.
- St. Patrick’s Day
This day is used to honour the Patron Saint of Ireland, through stereotypical ideas that include leprechauns, beer, a pot of gold, and corned beef with cabbages.
March 18th:
- Absolutely Incredible Kid Day (every third Thursday of the month)
From what the name of this holiday is titled, you are sure to know that this day is about letting kids know that they’re absolutely incredible!
- Awkward Moments Day
Awkward Moments Day is about sharing your awkward experiences with your friends and embracing those times where you had the most awkward days of your life.
March 19th:
- National Poultry Day
On poultry day, people celebrate meat that’s usually consumed daily, to participate in this you need to eat eggs for breakfast, a chicken sandwich for lunch, and of course BBQ chicken for dinner.
March 20th:
- International Day Of Happiness
This day is annually celebrated in the UN because they believe that recognizing the significance of happiness is special for them and their community.
- First Day Of Spring!
Yes, this day is also one of the most important dates of all time because this is where the snow says their goodbyes, and we say hello to Spring!
March 21st:
- National Teenager Day
Most teenagers may not know that there’s a holiday just for them! Well, guess what, here it is, giving them the full red carpet of celebrating the joy they give and their dedication through the lives of being a teenager.
- World Down Syndrome Day
World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day to educate others and embrace their uniqueness by wearing mismatched socks to symbolize the mismatched chromosomes.
March 22nd:
- World Water Day
We all know that water is really important to us and we all depend on it, but in some places even as many as 2.2 billion people may need safe water. This day is used to raise awareness for them to be able to use clean water to achieve that specific global water crisis that’s occurring.
March 23rd:
- National Puppy Day
To all the dog lovers out there, this day is 100% for you because it’s about celebrating the overdosage cuteness of puppies by adopting or playing with abandoned or orphaned puppies to make their days.
- National Chip and Dip Day
This chip and dip day is about celebrating and participating in the deliciousness of dipping tortilla or corn chips into some type of sauce!
March 24th:
- World TB Day
World TB day stands for World Tuberculosis day. It’s a day to educate and raise awareness about this health issue and help people who have it.
March 25th:
- International Waffle Day
As much as this is known as the International Waffle Day it’s technically about celebrating the start of spring in Europe with a side of waffles being eaten on this day.
- Pecan Day
This day is used to celebrate the nut, pecan, because people thought pecans were the best tasting types of nuts to eat. Participate in this holiday is by eating your own set of pecan pie or any type of food with the usage of pecans in them.
March 26th:
- Make Up Your Own Holiday Day
Get on the internet and make up a holiday, because this day is the day where you’re going to make one up and try to make it viral, so it ends up becoming a daily holiday like this one for example.
March 27th:
- National “Joe” Day
Have you ever wanted to change your name temporarily? Well here’s your chance to change your name for 24 hours straight only.
- Passover (sundown)
The Passover is pretty well-known to Catholics, Christians, and Jews. It shows the remembrance of how Moses saved slaves in Egypt from the Pharaoh by allowing God to send 10 horrifying plagues.
March 28th:
- Respect Your Cat Day
Who here own cats? Well, if you do or if you can have interaction with a cat please show your best love for them because they deserve it like any other ideal animal, plant, human, etc.
- Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday is the remembrance of the time when Jesus entered Jerusalem with a beautiful entrance of people placing palm branches on his pathway. This symbolizes the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of lent.
March 29th:
- National Mom and Dad Business Owners Day
This day allows others to recognize the importance of small businesses, which take hours to get their work going. To participate in supporting small businesses you can go and purchase items from them to make them happy and be grateful for their job.
March 30th:
- National Doctor’s Day
We give thanks to the doctors for their work in helping us through this pandemic. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to have some COVID-19 vaccines that are already being given out to seniors and front-line workers. Make sure to share your appreciation for them!
March 31st:
- World Backup Day
On this day it allows us to recognize that if we don’t backup all of our important files in our computer, it’ll completely get whipped out when the system crashes, so it’s best if you do it on this day.
