A team of eight aspiring lawyers was chosen by Mr. Tomei to compete in this year’s Ontario Justice of Education Network’s Spring Charter Challenge. The Charter Challenge presents a case involving a mandatory vaccination program due to a virus that caused a global pandemic. The prevalent issue of the case involves the argument that unvaccinated children will be at a disadvantage as they will not have access to important institutions such as daycare and school. The relevance of this case presents the opportunity for the students to come up with creative arguments. The group of eight students has been split into two teams, one for the Crown and the other in favour of the defence. Our two teams will be competing against each other as well as schools across Ontario in hopes of placing in the top two and having the opportunity to present their case in front of judges from the Ontario Court of Appeal!

Wishing the best of luck to our team, and be sure to stay tuned for the results!
