Time is passing by quickly these days! Halloween has passed and it’s almost Christmas, but do you know what else is almost here? Well, it’s “National Cancer Awareness Day”. The reason why this day is quite significant is due to the fact that it’s a day where people spread awareness about cancer prevention.

Interested in a little bit of history? You should know that it all started with Mme. Curie, a scientist who discovered radium and polonium, and allowed treatments starring nuclear energy and radiotherapy, for people with cancer near the end of the 1800s. Her work was so outstanding that Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, decided to set “National Cancer Awareness Day” on her birthday.

Now, every 7th of November is a day to spread awareness for cancer patients all around the world. To participate in spreading awareness throughout this day, you can create art pieces, teach others about cancer, or host events like fundraisers to spread cancer awareness throughout your community!
