During the week of November 15th to the 19th, Spectrum has been promoting anti-bullying through positive messages, ribbons, QR codes, and Kahoots. It has been a week of reflection as we bring awareness to the issue of bullying.
There were a series of events that brought the student body together and spread positivity throughout the school. Throughout the week, there was the ‘Pink-Out’ in the cafeteria which allowed for a beam of pink light to come into the lunchroom. Additionally, there were QR code messages placed around the school for students to find and submit to earn a prize.
On Tuesday there were the informative homeroom presentations which included an insightful video, a thought provoking kahoot, and the ‘Think P.I.N.K’ pledge. Students were also given pink ribbons to tie on their backpacks and show their support for anti bullying awareness.
Finally, on Wednesday, there was the hit event where Spectrum members passed around positive labels to students and staff as they arrived in the morning for the St. A community to wear around school.
Although the week has ended, we should still continue with a positive mindset and make sure we spread positivity. If you are being bullied, please talk to a trusted adult or use Kids Help phone to find help. If you see someone being bullied, please remember to stand up for the victim to help stop the spread of bullying.
