Christmas is one of the most prominent holidays in the world. It is easy to spot Christmas from a mile away and a big reason for that is the decorations. Though it can be nice to put up lights and wreaths, it can also be quite expensive. In order to save on money and to also spend time with family during the holidays, you can make some decorations from home.

One exciting activity to do is to make paper snowflakes. They’ll take about 10 minutes. You can make as many different types as you want because the designs are endless. It’s almost impossible to mess these up because no snowflake is perfect. Every result you have will be unique and different, just as a snowflake is. All you need is a pair of scissors, paper and a pencil. This decoration has a little bit of folding and a lot of cutting with a very rewarding result. Here are some templates.

Another great decoration idea is 3D tabletop Christmas Trees. These also take about 10 minutes to make and look incredible. They are great to make if you like origami and folding. You’ll only need paper and scissors for the tree itself. After the tree has been made, you can decorate it with whatever you want. This would require beads, paint, glue guns, markers or any other thing you want to put on the tree. The more of these you make, the nicer the surface you decorate ends up looking. This means that you can make these with your family or friends during the holidays. Here’s a tutorial.

There are many more options of what to make for Christmas that range from paper angels to cute tree ornaments. You can make your own wreath out of scrap for branches or a bauble out of glitter and a glass ball. If you want to find materials to make your own decorations, you can go to Michaels, Staples, Walmart, The Dollar Store, or Dollarama.
