Warning: Spoiler Alert for Spiderman Far From Home

Written by Suhana Satish J and Timothy Chhor

To recap the last Spider-Man movie: after the events of Endgame, Mysterio, a former employee of STARK industries, befriends and manipulates Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man. Eventually, Parker gives E.D.I.T.H, an artificial intelligence system, to Mysterio, who enhances his illusions by accessing the Stark Industries drones. In the post-credit scene, before Mysterio died, he revealed Spider-Man’s identity to the world.

In the trailer for No Way Home, Peter Parker accidentally opens the multiverse, and villains from previous Spider-Man movies such as Lizard, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Venom, and Electro come to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man universe. Fans theorize that both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will reprise their roles as Spider-Man and they will be from different multivariate backgrounds. Spider-Man fans are especially interested in this theory since it can open up more opportunities for characters such as Miles Morales to show up in future MCU projects, and fight along with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Another theory suggests that the Doctor Strange we see in the trailer is evil. Throughout the course of the trailer, Doctor Strange does some very strange things he wouldn’t do, like casting spells that tamper with the fabric of reality, seemingly keeping something away from Peter, and fighting him on a moving train. Wandavision writers revealed that Mephisto and Doctor Strange were supposed to come at the finale of Wandavision. However, due to the heavy Covid-19 restrictions, they weren’t able to shoot the final scenes. Hence, some fans believe that Doctor Strange could be the devil in disguise.

While on the topic of seemingly good characters being evil, sources say that Ned might have negative character development. According to the comics, Ned takes on the mantle of being HobGoblin. He finds the hideout of the real HobGoblin but gets abducted and brainwashed by the true villain. In the trailer for Spider-Man No Way Home, when MJ falls from a building, some people think Ned might’ve pushed MJ.

We look forward to seeing this movie when it comes out to see if our theories actualize.
