March break is right around the corner, which may be the perfect time to unwind and relax. For some that may mean skiing with friends and going out. But for others it may be settling down by the fireplace with a good book. If that includes you, keep reading for our favourite cosy suggestions. Snuggle up with your Taylor Swift chai tea cookies, a cup of hot chocolate, and a fuzzy blanket to indulge in the world of fantasy.
- Circe– Madeline Miller
Circe is the perfect book for those interested in Greek mythology. The book deals with themes of independence, loneliness, and human god and goddess flaws. Miller’s writing is incredibly vivid and relatable. As a high school student, I found myself easily relating to the feelings of the main character, Circe.
- A Line to Kill– Anthony Horowitz
A Line to Kill is a classic island murder mystery. Horowitz even writes himself into this incredible novel. The book takes many twists and turns, making every page addictive.
- The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane– Lisa See
See takes you through a story of tradition, tea farming, and the connection between family. This captivating read will pull you in with the story of a mother in rural China who is forced to give up her child. The powerful story inspires reflection in the pain and joy of blood relationships.
