What a game for the Toronto Blue Jays as they host their first home opener at the Rogers Center since 2019. After three years, the Blue Jays hosted their 2022 home opener this past Friday and tickets were completely sold out. After playing all of their 2020 season and most of their 2021 season in Dunedin, Florida, and Buffalo, New York, the Jays are back and better than ever.

The pre-game ceremony had fans on their feet as they welcomed their Blue Jays back home. Later there were some awards to give with Marcus Semien, who now plays for the Texas Rangers, received a standing ovation from Blue Jays fans as he received the Silver Slugger Award for top hitter at second base. Teoscar Hernandez received his second consecutive Silver Slugger Award in the outfield. Vladimir Guerrero Jr took home not only the Silver Slugger for first base but was also announced the Hank Aaron Award winner.

The Jays will be playing the New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics later this week. With new additions to the team creating a deep roster and intense spring training, it seems like the Jays have a solid chance at the World Series with some of the best hitters in baseball.
