St. Augustine’s Animal Rights Committee is hosting an Ukraine Animal Rescue week from Monday, June 13 to Wednesday, June 15. This event is done with the goal of raising money and awareness for animals who become injured or homeless in Ukraine due to the conflict. All of the donations raised through selling goodie bags goes to an organization called Four Paws.
On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, there will be an announcement in the morning from the Animal Rights Committee. The announcements will state facts and how this event helps the animals in Ukraine. As well, it will mention the goodie bags being sold for this event.
The goodie bags are being sold at $4 each at the back of the cafeteria during all three lunches. They will contain animal stickers, a bird feeder kit, and some other surprise, small items. The bird feeder kits contain pine cones, bird seeds, and string to hang it. The instructions for assembling the bird feeder are included in the goodie bag, which are made by rolling the pine cone in peanut butter or honey. You can then put the bird seeds on the pine cone and hang it from a tree branch.
Make sure to look for the posters around the school advertising the event and to check out the goodie bags at the back of the cafeteria. Work with St. Augustine’s Animal Rights Committee to help animals affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
