With the return of Stranger Things season 4: Volume 1, came a lot of shock, horror and surprises! After a 3 year break of the show, season 4 arrived May 27th. All of the characters are split up; we have some in Indiana, California, Alaska and even Russia. All the characters are going through something difficult: Eleven is dealing with the suspected loss of Hopper and her powers, Max is dealing with the loss of Billy, and the Byers are trying to forget about Hawkins.
We are also introduced to new characters such as Eddie, Argyle, Chrissie, Vickie, Dimitri (Enzo) and Jason. These characters added a lot to the show and made it very interesting. There is also a whole different vibe this season. It isn’t as bright and colourful as season 3. Season 4 has a dark and horror-like look. Characters are dressed in muted and darker colours. Especially the Hawkins group. But, as they say “there is also light at the end of the tunnel” and the California group is constantly seen in bright 80s fashion. This shows how the different groups are going through different things. Hawkins is still a dark and scary place, while California is more happy and laid back.
In earlier seasons we have endured demogorgons, shadow monsters, mind flayers, and many others. The new villain this season is Vecna, he is the most powerful character yet! This villain can talk and share your deepest secrets, which makes it harder to escape. Many characters in this show have either been a victim or survivor of his powers. After the amazement of season 4, volume 1, all we can hope for is that volume 2 (coming out July 1st) will exceed all expectations and blow us away.
