The spookiest time of the year is back again — with an exception to exam seasons. For the first time in 2 years, St. Augustine can finally experience a true Halloween — halls being filled with monsters, ghouls, and the most iconic characters of the century. With all this spooky spirit, this article will outline some of the most creative and well thought out costumes this year seen at St. Augustine!
- The Wizard of Oz
Follow the yellow brick road to the top costume of this year! The many groups of St. Augustine students celebrated this heartwarming tale, dressed up as the iconic Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Lion, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good Witch. The costumes were all pieced together with materials and clothes from home, making it a cost effective and eco friendly costume.
- Angel and Devil With a Twist
This look combined creativity and artistic talent all together. Taking the classic angel and devil costume, a student took it up a notch by making a headpiece with a floating angel and devil on each shoulder, and incorporating a fierce eye makeup look to complete the costume.
- Breaking Bad Duo
“If you don’t know who I am, then maybe your best course would be to tread lightly.” Can you guess this iconic duo? If you guessed the iconic Walter White and Jesse Pinkman duo, you’d be right! Since they won a round of the costume contest, they’re definitely on this list of top costumes!
- David Bowie
St. Augustine took a blast from the past with a student dressed as one of the most influential musicians from the 70s, David Bowie. They dressed with one of his signature looks of the bright red jacket that shines through the crowd!
- Kim Possible
She’s your basic average girl that’s here to save the world. You won’t need to call or beep for Kim Possible, because St. Augustine has their very own Kim Possible this year! Fashionable, smart, and always saving the day, what else could you ask for?
Some other honourable mentions are Edward Scissorhands, Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, The Joker, the Minions, Adventure Time, and many more! Of course, this list is limited and everyone who dressed up this year should be celebrated and applauded for their efforts! Have a safe and happy Halloween Titans!
