With the Christmas holidays nearing, many of us may be wondering what we can do during the break. If that’s you, then you’ve come to the right place! Baking is very popular during the Christmas season and if you’re up for something new, one treat you can try this Christmas season are Christmas truffles! These delicious desserts are easy and quick, only taking 10 minutes total! You can satisfy your sweet tooth this Christmas season by following the recipe below!
Ingredients:
– 227 grams of semi-sweet chocolate bar(chopped)
-½ cup heavy cream
-½ teaspoon vanilla extract
-227 grams of semi-sweet dark/white chocolate bar for coating
-icing and sprinkles for decoration
Instructions:
- You will need to place your chopped semi-sweet chocolate bar pieces into a medium-sized bowl.
- Take the heavy cream and place it in a light simmer and (DO NOT BOIL IT) place it on top of a stove top/microwave oven and add the warm mixture into the bowl of chocolate while also adding the vanilla extract at the same time. Remember to stir afterwards in order to melt the chocolate. The mixture should be warm but not overly hot. (Note: if chocolate does not melt, microwave it for a few seconds).
- Take plastic food wrap and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. The plastic wrap should be touching the chocolate mixture and set the bowl aside in the fridge for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, your truffle mixture should be ready and you can now take small bits of the chocolate and mold them into balls and set them on a tray. The chocolate should be COLD and fully set before you start rolling them. The chocolate will most likely get warm and can become sticky. If this happens, just set the tray into the freezer for a few minutes before continuing.
- If you choose to coat the truffles with the chocolate, remember to melt the chocolate in the microwave oven and coat the truffles and also add sprinkles and icing to your delight!
- Set your newly decorated truffles in the fridge for around 20-30 minutes and enjoy your truffles afterwards!
Have a great Holiday Season and enjoy those personally made truffles!
