As we enter December, we crawl ever closer to winter. It won’t be long before our streets and sidewalks are blanketed with snow and it becomes glacially cold. Despite the freezing temperatures though, there are so many opportunities to have fun outside this season! Listed below are a collection of enjoyable activities to do with friends and family throughout the upcoming wintertime!
1. Take a Skiing Trip

To start off the list is a winter classic, skiing. Have fun with family and friends racing down the slopes and don’t forget to take in the breath-taking views from the tops of the mountains. Whether you’re a beginner, an expert, or anywhere in between, skiing is always a sport for you to enjoy and have a good time. If you’re interested in skiing, you should check out Blue Mountain, Mount St. Louis Moonstone, and the Lakeridge Resort.
2. Ice skating

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been skating since birth or never have, because regardless of your proficiency, ice skating is fun for all. Even if you don’t have skates, starting December 2nd, The City of Markham is offering rentals on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM. Take advantage of this chance and visit your local ice rink with your family and friends!
3. Snow Tubing

Snow-tubing is sliding down a hill in a ring-shaped tube and it’s also incredibly fun! As opposed to skiing and skating which both require the purchase of expensive equipment, all you need for snow-tubing is to book a reservation. If you want to go snow-tubing, you can go check out the Lakeridge Resort.
4. Visit Wonderland’s Winterfest

Charming decorations all over, heating zones to escape the cold, sweet, delectable food, singing and dancing to be found everywhere; what more could you want out of a trip? Take a trip with friends and family and go enjoy the many attractions you can find at Canada Wonderland’s Winterfest.
5. Dog Sledding Trip

It may be expensive and considerably far north, but there’s no denying that dog sledding would be an unforgettable experience. Situated in the Haliburton Highlands, Winterdance hosts dog sledding tours that give you the chance to drive a dogsled team full of fuzzy friends. If you get the chance, take a day trip with your family members and have some fun!
Whatever you choose to do this winter, make sure you enjoy it!
