The Movie M3GAN is a Horror/Sci-Fi film about a robot human doll, who vows to protect Gemma’s niece Cady – at any cost. After Cady’s parents die in a fatal car crash, she is left alive and in custody of her aunt Gemma. Gemma is a robotics engineer who has been trying to pitch her new idea of a life-like child doll-M3GAN. After Gemma decided to introduce Cady to her M3GAN prototype, their bond created was inseparable however, M3GAN’s acts of protection lead to unimaginable consequences.
Overall, I would rate this movie a 6/10. M3GAN was an interesting movie with a very captivating plot, as I was kept on my toes throughout the film. There was never a dull moment although, I did question how strange the movie was at times, especially with how eerie M3GAN’s behaviour was. It is quite creepy to think that a robot is potentially capable of so much; talking, dancing and even singing. As we know, the technology in our world is evolving so quickly that we already have robots in our daily life (industrial robots, alexa etc), which we can talk to and even program to take over our jobs! To think that robots like M3GAN could and are already integrated into our daily lives is crazy to think about, considering how far we have come with the advancement of technology. There are an endless amounts of pros and cons though,(as displayed in the movie) so I don’t know if I would be able to adapt to such advancements. Overall, this movie caused me to open my eyes to the new and ever-changing world, and had me pondering about innovative possibilities, of technology advancements in the future. Some may think that having a M3GAN is a great idea, yet others may disagree. I’ll let you decide that for yourself, if you get the chance to watch M3GAN in theatres before it’s too late…
