Hey Titans! As the much awaited March Break approaches in less than a few days, here are 10 ways we can all destress and boost our mental health!
- Hang out with your friends
What better way to enjoy your free time than spend it with your friends? Take this chance to hang out with them, here are a few ideas (link article someone else is writing).
- Catch up on sleep
Especially after exams, we all need to catch up on some sleep! Take this time to rest and let your body heal itself.
- Exercise
This is the best time to start developing a habit, and exercise is a great example! You can start without any equipment, and take this opportunity to become healthier. Many great fitness videos can be found on Youtube. If you feel like exercising is too much, try yoga or stretching!
- Try to live off the grid
Most of us spend so many hours on our laptops or our phones daily. Whether that’s due to schoolwork or social media, try to spend less time online and more time offline.
- Do something you have been planning to do for a while (but pushed back)
There’s likely something that you have wanted to do but never had the time to. Now, here’s your chance! Whether it’s to visit somebody, do a hobby you haven’t done in a while, learn something new, this can help you destress.
- Spend some time outside
Take a hike, and enjoy the fresh air! Spending time outdoors is a great way to relax and take a breath! There is some snow expected, so try building a snowman or a go tobogganing!
- Spend Time With Family
We’re all busy, and that means that we may not be spending as much time as we should be with our families. Do some fun activities, like family game night, making a meal together, or going somewhere fun!
- Meditation
Practicing deep breathing exercises and using apps like Headspace will help you relax even more! It’s a good way to reduce anxiety, and will make it a habit before school starts again!
- Self-Care
Pamper and treat yourself! Spa days are always super relaxing, releasing tension and making you feel better about yourself. The best part is that you can also do this with friends, and bond at the same time!
- Eating Healthy
Usually, some of us might be too busy to make ourselves a healthy meal or snack, but now you have the time to try some fast and healthy options. Eating healthy foods will help you to feel good, so definitely give this a try!
