From aerial mysteries to blood-curling murders, many historical events and locations remain to be the greatest puzzles of mankind. How did they come to be? Dive deep into this collection of the world’s most perplexing mysteries.
1. Flight MH370
One of the most pondered aviation mysteries is the disappearance of Flight MH370. The commercial flight of the Malaysia Airlines vanished without a trace along with some 200 passengers and crew members onboard in March of 2014. Air traffic control lost contact with the flight after take off, and it was never heard from ever again. No distress signals or good-bye texts from passengers (last words of love from victims of sudden disaster) were ever received, adding speculation to the viral debate over the series of events. After an international scramble of search missions, the plane and its black box are still yet to be found. 2. Jack the Ripper
Jack the Ripper was the infamous murderer behind a series of killings in 1888, London. All of his victims were prostitutes who had been out soliciting customers at the time of attack. Their throats were slit and their bodies were brutally mutilated. The nature of the attack along with the identities of the women have allowed many to believe that the murders had been spurred by misogyny. Jack had reportedly taunted the impotent police with acts such as mailing a human kidney. Despite dozens of theories, his identity has never been revealed.
3. Stonehenge
Located in Wiltshire, England, the stone circle, with each stone weighing a hefty 50,000 pounds, dates back to 2000 BCE. Scientists have long marvelled about the stones’ origins because each had been brought from 200 miles away, an impressive feat during the prehistoric era. As one of the many mysterious henges discovered, its usage remains unknown. Most believe that it had been erected for religious purposes, while others, on the intellectual side of the matter, believe it had been used to tell time. This notable landmark is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Yearly, countless tourists flock to admire its striking structure.
Was the disappearance of Flight MH370 caused by a natural phenomena, or could it have been caused by a force greater than any can reckon? How did Jack the Ripper commit such untraceable vile acts? How did early humans put the Stonehenge together? These events, while bizarrely interesting, may forever hold the answers away from our reach.
