Throughout the first two months of the 2023-2024 school year, St. Augustine sports teams have participated in many competitions and each had their own achievements. Our school’s cross country team, girls field hockey team, senior boys soccer, and junior boys soccer competed against other schools and are eager to continue participating in other competitions.
The varsity girls field hockey team is currently undefeated, winning all five games against other schools, such as Bill Crothers and Markville Secondary school. Having a total of 17 goals this season, the girls field hockey team continues to compete to keep their winning streak alive. Currently in first place, St. Augustine’s girls field hockey team will compete in the semi-finals on Monday, October 30.
St. Augustine’s senior boys soccer team and the junior boys soccer both remain undefeated in their respective competitions. Our senior boys soccer team had 2 wins and 3 ties; and our junior boys soccer team has won all four of their games. The senior boys soccer team will be ending their regular season with a game against Unionville High on Tuesday, October 24.
Currently, tryouts are being held for the varsity hockey team for the upcoming winter season. Coaches of the St. Augustine junior girls and senior girls volleyball team will be holding tryouts, beginning Monday, October 30, until they find suitable players for the teams.
The Athletic Council has held registration for the Volleyball Intramural Night the past week. The Volleyball Intramural Night will take place on Friday, November 3 in the gym at St. Augustine.
As the sports teams of St. Augustine CHS continue to compete and hold tryouts, we wish them the best of luck!
