Barbie directed by Greta Gerwig was arguably the most anticipated film of 2023, and it did not disappoint. While analyzing the production design, soundtrack, editing, choreography, costume design, and the memorable performances, it is evident that every detail was crafted to perfection. Margot Robbie was incredible in her role as Barbie. Her effective, emotional performance had a theatre go from laughing to crying. Additionally, Ryan Gosling was a standout scene-stealer as well as America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Michael Cera, Kate McKinnon, and Will Ferrell.

Barbie begins by introducing us to Barbieland, a world where every Barbie and Ken lives a perfect day, until one morning Barbie (Margot Robbie) begins to experience a strange sequence of events: flat feet, cold shower, and falling from her roof! Reluctantly, Barbie ventures with Ken (Ryan Gosling) to the real world to find the girl who is playing with her. Not everything is as expected, which leads to a series of catastrophic events for the future of Barbieland.

Earning an impressive 1.44 billion at the box office, Barbie is a heart-warming movie that brought families, and even strangers together this past summer. After years of empty seats in the cinema, joining crowds of pink to laugh together is the magic of Barbie.
