Did you know that getting involved in activities outside the classroom can have significant benefits? Sports, arts and clubs should not just be second thoughts, but the key to a balanced education.

In high school, participating in extracurricular activities can help to develop some important skills such as teamwork and time management (an article on time management will be published soon!) These activities make your experience in school more enjoyable and valuable.

Studies have shown that being involved in activities outside of the classroom have positively influenced people’s will to grow as a person. Whether you are more of an athletic or academic person, there are many different pathways to choose that could enhance your well roundedness.

Next, extracurricular activities could offer a unique approach to activities you may be passionate about or have wanted to try. Whether you are discovering the thrill of the debate club or cooling down in the arts, the satisfaction of contributing to your school community helps shape your identity and motivates you to get involved.

As the school year continues, take the time to consider some extracurricular activities that could benefit you in the long run. Remember to choose something outside your comfort zone for an extra challenge! Extracurricular activities lay the foundations of success not only in academics but in your personal life as well. Hence, take the offer and take advantage of new opportunities to make your high school experience one to remember!
