Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge is a reality show where  456 real people compete  for a chance to win  4.56 million dollars. All of the production design was constructed so carefully to the point where it appears identical to the set of the original Squid Game (2021). It was unbelievably spot on! By having the contestants compete in the same (or similar) tests from the original drama, the pressure has never been this high.

Watching the series was extremely interesting. Years ago, I watched the original drama series; therefore, I was intrigued to discover that a reality show was made based on the same idea. As soon as I started the competition show, I was on the edge of my seat. With the multiple twists and turns, I could not look away from the screen.

Within the series, you are introduced to different people with different stories, all competing for the same amount of money. Picture this; 456 people trying to figure out the best way to strategize their win – to play fairly or not to play fairly. Enemies are made. Alliances are formed. No one is safe from elimination. As a viewer, you find yourself rooting for specific players, hoping they pass by one game at a time.

If you have not seen the original Squid Game, I recommend watching it before watching Squid Game: The Challenge. It will provide you with some background on the concept of the show as well as more appreciation for the original series. With season two of Squid Game and Squid Game: The Challenge on its way, it is the perfect time to binge watch season one of both series.
