On May 6, 2024, the annual Met Gala was held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The Gala was a star-studded event that acted as a fundraiser for the museum’s Costume Institute.

This year’s theme was “The Garden of Time”, inspired by a novel of the same name. Hosted by Zendeya, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Chris Hemsworth, the Met Gala displayed countless artistic costumes as the celebrities walked the red carpet. Today, we will explore some of the most prominent ones:

Of course, the host of the show did not disappoint. The famous girlfriend of Spiderman donned a dress designed by John Galliano, consisting of tulle netting in smoky black and deep blue. The feathered headpiece surely complimented the elegant look.

The New York rapper stunned everyone as she ascended with a glamorous black dress, made by Italian designer Giambattista Valli. With impressive layers and intricate cuts, this was one of the best designs on stage. Although she was one of the last to arrive, she definitely ended it off with a bang.

  1. Doja Cat

Doja Cat arrived at the Gala in, per usual, an edgy ensemble. Her simplistic but deep costume mainly consisted of a soaking wet white cotton T-shirt from Vetements and drippy mascara, both of which came together to paint a depressed and expressive look.

Out of all the costumes, which one was your favourite?
