The beautiful city of Markham will sparkle with the lights of Christmas this year as it conducts the Festival of Lights, a cherished tradition loved by the community. The event is set for Friday, November 29, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Markham Main Street will be a magical place decorated with winter themes, providing a fun experience for loved ones of all ages. The grand moment of the night will be the lighting of the sparkling Christmas tree, which is a Markham holiday symbol of the official start of the holiday season. This breathtaking instant no doubt will dazzle and enthuse the participants.

Kids as well as grownups will be able to meet Santa Claus and take snaps with him as mementos. The jolly man will be at the Hockey Legends Training, located at 98 Main St. N, to listen to children’s Christmas wishes and take pictures.

The Festival of Lights will have many entertaining activities throughout the night, to the satisfaction of all coming. These include live music performances by the School of Rock Markham House Band, carolers bringing Christmas joy singing traditional songs, a trackless train ride for the young and the old and fun games for all. One of the major events of the night will be a glorious fireworks display that will make the night bright in a stunning way, thus, giving a great ending to the celebration.

The Festival of Lights is more than just a holiday event taking place; it’s a celebration of community spirit and local businesses. Main Street Markham will be closed from Highway 7 to Bullock Drive from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM on the day of the event, allowing visitors to freely explore the area and support local shops and restaurants.

With the Festival of Lights event coming near, everyone is warmly invited to our Main Street Markham to lend a hand in the celebration of lights, togetherness, and holiday excitement. With its extraordinary mix of cheerful activities and dreamy ambiance, the celebration surely would be a great way to kick off the holiday season in Markham.
