Since 1905, The Santa Claus Parade has kicked off the Christmas season, first in Toronto, then for the whole country as it has grown in popularity and importance throughout the years. The Parade brings people together, regardless of their background, celebrating hope, family, and love. It is part of the fabric of our community.

Every year, we bring hundreds of thousands of people onto the streets of Toronto and millions more into living rooms to celebrate this joyous season. We have been doing so, uninterrupted, for 119 years, and that is exactly what we will be doing again this year: bringing Santa’s magic to town.

This year’s 120th Santa Claus Parade hit the streets of Toronto on Sunday Nov 24th at 12:30, and was streamed LIVE and on demand on YouTube for the very first time. Be sure to subscribe to their channel and watch on your favourite YouTube supported device. There will be countless marching bands playing including the army band.

A merry way to help the parade: for over 100 years, the Santa Claus Parade has put smiles on the faces of children and adults alike throughout Toronto. Put on your magical running shoes and get ready to take part in the annual Holly Jolly Fun Run! It is only 5 kilometers, and you will be running the same route as the parade of Santa Claus.

Runners and Christmas enthusiasts unite for the most festive and fun 5K there is. Dress silly and get cheered on by hundreds of thousands of parade-goers as you show your festive spirit! The 5k Holly Jolly Fun Run led the way for the Parade, starting at 11:45 am. Just 45 minutes before the Parade starts, thousands of runners will gather at 625 Bloor St W. between Palmerston Ave. and Euclid Ave., to start their run down the Parade route to the finish line at Yonge and Wellington (a very short walk to the Parade finish area). Then find your family and enjoy the Parade!

2,000 runners were expected with all proceeds directly supporting the Santa Claus Parade.

This year there will be countless other Christmas parade events featuring Santa and his elves downtown across the beginning of December.
