This past Sunday, December 8th, Taylor Swift ended her tour, the Eras Tour, in Vancouver. After the star’s two year hiatus from going on tour, fans had been excited after hearing her announcement of going on tour in November of 2022. The original announcement had only shown that there would be 27 concerts over a span of one year, but as demand increased, it soon became 66 concerts for year one, and 86 for the second year in 22 countries. As the tour includes a span of 18 years worth of music, the tour has continued to develop and impress with the release of new music videos, album announcements, unique guest appearances, and a brand-new “Tortured Poets” performance in Paris, France.
As the tour ends, Swift is expected to earn more than $2 billion just from the sales of tickets. The overall revenue from the tour is expected to surpass $4.1 billion. Reportedly, Swift makes around $13.6 million for each performance, based on reports from Forbes. She is expected by fans to soon become a multimillionaire after the show.
As fans enjoyed the Eras Tour, most believe that it had been worth attending, although their resale tickets cost from $1000 to $3751 while their face-value had been actually worth around $250. Based on a journalist’s actual experience, Marie Kester strongly believes that the Eras Tour is worth the price. “Not only is the music fantastic, but the visuals are great too. Taylor is incredible at performing live. And the energy and excitement from the fans make you feel like you are a part of something special. You really have to be there to experience it.” said Kester in an article.
So really, had the Eras Tour been worth the hype? Yes, it was worth the hype, but it depends, if you yourself are willing to pay thousands of dollars for a 3 and a half hour concert.
