A small holiday guide for relaxation

With winter break closely approaching, many of us are stressed over final projects, assignments, and evaluations seeping into the final weeks of December, exhausted over having to work tirelessly to ensure a passing grade on all of our school shenanigans. Not only that, we also have exams coming up following our return from the holidays. Rather than spending 24/7 on our exam study guides, notes, and textbooks, here are a couple of things you can do to decompress this holiday.
- Watch a Classic Holiday Movie

Grab a blanket, hot drink, and snacks and enjoy a cozy night on the couch as you watch a classic Christmas movie. Whether it is the timeless 1990 Home Alone, or a newer movie like the Christmas Chronicles, having a night off is a nice self-care thing you can do to relax this holiday season. One of my personal favorite favorites is The Grinch 2018 (in my opinion the less creepy version of the 2000s one). Despite being a seemingly childish animation, it has exquisite scenes that make you feel incredibly festive and relaxed.
- Write a Journal

When stressed, we sometimes have no channels to let our worries out, through journaling, you can turn the blank pages of a notebook into whatever you want, anything from a place to write down your thoughts or doodle some holiday art. There are wide selections of examples on Pinterest you can get inspired from!
- Go on a Winter/Snowy Walk
Head to your local park, or sit in your backyard to enjoy a magical snowfall: a snowfall can cheer anyone up from a stressful time! You can even be extra and bring out a hot chocolate as you walk and embrace the beauty of a Canadian Winter wonderland!
