On April 23-24, Sacred Heart Catholic High School proudly invited some of St. Augustine’s students to the 2025 Torch Leadership Program, an inspiring initiative that brought together students from across all grades to learn, grow, and lead together. Focused on building leadership skills, promoting friendship, and—of course—having fun, the program was a memorable experience for everyone involved.

From icebreakers to team challenges and reflective discussions, Torch 2025 was packed with activities designed to teach students how to lead with confidence, compassion, and purpose. Participants explored key leadership qualities like communication, collaboration, and decision-making, all while forming new connections with classmates.

“It was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had at Sacred Heart,” said a Grade 10 student. “I made so many new friends and learned how to be a better listener and team player.”

One student also added, “The activities were super fun, but they also really made us think. I didn’t expect to learn so much about myself.”

One of the highlights of the program was the “Leadership in Action” challenge, where students worked in small groups to solve real-world scenarios. This hands-on approach helped participants understand the impact of leadership beyond the classroom.

Guided by passionate staff and senior student mentors, the Torch Program also encouraged reflection and faith-based leadership, aligning with Sacred Heart’s values of community and service.

“We want students to leave Torch knowing they can be leaders in any situation—whether it’s in school, at home, or in their community,” said one of the teachers from Sacred Heart CHS.

By the end of the two-day retreat, students didn’t just walk away with new skills—they walked away with new friendships and memories that will last long after the school year ends.

As Sacred Heart helps St. Augustine continues to build future leaders, the Torch Program stands out as a shining example of what happens when faith, fun, and leadership come together.
